About the Show

Rehearsals will be Feb 15 - 18, with induvidual rehearsals on Monday and full-cast rehearsals on the 16 - 18. Think of rehearsals as more of a fun week at summer camp. We will be playing drama games and getting to know each other as well as rehearsing. This show is all about being able to form as a community and celebrate what having a vagina is like (good and bad).

Depending on the monologue, you may be asked to read from note cards on stage or memorize your piece.

This is supposed to a fun, relaxed experience and meant to be about the stories themselves rather than the performance. So don't fret if you're having trouble with your monologue.

The Vagina Monologues is made up of a varying number of monologues read by a varying number of women. Each of the monologues deals with an aspect of the feminine experience, touching on matters such as sex, love, rape, menstruation, female genital mutilation, masturbation, birth, orgasm, the various common names for the vagina, or simply as a physical aspect of the body. A recurring theme throughout the piece is the vagina as a tool of female empowerment, and the ultimate embodiment of individuality.

Georgetown Law's Advocates Against Sexual Violence will be presenting 'The Vagina Monologues' on Feb 19-21 at 8pm in Hart Auditorium (directions below)

All proceeds will go to The Amara Legal Center.
